Admissions Information
Prospective parents and their children are warmly invited to visit Nant-y-Parc Primary School. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to look around the school and discuss admissions with the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher.

Catchment Area
Our catchment area covers the village of Senghenydd. Parents wishing to apply for admission from outside this area must do so via the Admissions Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council. Applications are considered according to Local Authority criteria, and parents will be informed of the outcome directly.

Rising 3s
Nant-y-Parc Primary School welcomes ‘Rising 3s’, meaning children may start school in the term following their third birthday (Spring Term if the birthday falls in the Autumn Term, and Summer Term if it falls in the Spring Term).
Applications must be submitted through the Caerphilly County Borough Council website. These are processed by the Local Authority, and parents will be notified if a place is available. Families of Rising 3 pupils are invited to visit the school prior to starting.

Nursery
Nursery applications are also made via the Caerphilly County Borough Council website. Places are allocated by the Local Authority, and parents will be notified of the outcome. Nursery sessions are part-time.
Parents of Rising 3 and Nursery pupils are invited to visit the school, meet staff, learn about classroom activities, and receive an Early Years Handbook. Please note: if your child begins as a Rising 3, you must reapply for a Nursery place.

Reception
Children may be admitted to Reception in the Autumn Term following their fifth birthday (between 1st September and 31st August of that academic year). Most children transfer directly from our Nursery.
Applications are submitted through the Caerphilly County Borough Council website and processed by the Local Authority. Parents will be notified if a place is available.

Important Reminder
It is essential to complete application forms for Rising 3s, Nursery, and Reception by the published deadlines. A place allocated for Rising 3s does not guarantee a place in Nursery or Reception.

Admission to Other Year Groups
Applications for other year groups can be made by contacting either Mrs. J. Watkins, School Secretary, or the Admissions Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council. A convenient time will then be arranged for you and your child to visit the school, meet the Senior Leadership Team and class teacher, and discuss our approach to learning. Where possible, we encourage children to spend a morning or afternoon with their new class prior to starting, helping them settle in and feel at home.
