Mr. O. Evans would like to warmly welcome you to Wonderful Welshcakes. In Year 5, we aim to inspire independent thinking, curiosity, and confidence through meaningful learning experiences. We encourage all learners to challenge themselves, ask questions, and take pride in their progress as they prepare for the upper stages of primary school.
We provide a supportive and engaging environment where every pupil is encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Class Timings
The school day starts at 9:00am and finishes at 3:15pm.
Uniform
Please ensure that all items of clothing, bags, lunch boxes, and water bottles are clearly labelled with your child’s name so they can be returned quickly if misplaced.
Snack Time
Children are welcome to bring a healthy snack from home, or choose a fruit option from Tŷ Bwyd. Please also send in a labelled water bottle so pupils can stay hydrated throughout the day.
Reading Eggs, Hwb & Additional Programmes
All pupils in Year 5 will receive login details for a range of digital learning platforms to support their learning both in class and at home:

Reading Eggs to build reading fluency, comprehension, and enjoyment.

Hwb to access Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools, building digital competence across the curriculum.

Mathletics for engaging and differentiated maths practice.

Times Table Rockstars to help pupils improve their times table fluency.

MyOn – a digital reading library packed with books to enjoy at school and home.
