Mr. B. Coles would like to welcome you to Curious Castles. In Year 4, we encourage pupils to be inquisitive, resilient learners who enjoy taking on new challenges across all areas of the Curriculum for Wales. We are passionate about building independence and a love of learning in a fun, inclusive and supportive environment.

We celebrate curiosity, creativity, and collaboration every day – and we can’t wait to share our learning journey with you this year!

Class Timings
The school day begins at 9:00am and ends at 3:15pm.

 

Uniform
Please make sure all uniform items, coats, lunch boxes, and PE kits are clearly labelled with your child’s name so that lost property can be returned quickly. PE kit is black bottoms shorts or leggings with a white or red t-shirt.

Snack Time
Children are welcome to bring a healthy snack from home (labelled with their name) or choose from our Tŷ Bwyd fruit selection. Pupils should also bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.

 

Reading Eggs, Hwb & Additional Programmes
All pupils in Year 4 have access to their own Reading Eggs and Hwb accounts. These platforms support learning in school and at home.

• Hwb gives access to Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools, helping children build essential digital skills.

• Reading Eggs develops phonics, reading fluency and comprehension through interactive games and books.

• Mathletics is available for practising maths skills at home and in class, with engaging activities suited to each learner.

• Times Table Rockstars helps pupils build speed and accuracy with time tables in a fun and motivating way.

• MyOn offers access to a wide range of online books, encouraging reading for pleasure at home and school.
