Welcome to Delightful Dragons – Year 2
Miss H. Cotton and Mrs C. Rosser would like to warmly welcome you to Delightful Dragons. We are a supportive and enthusiastic team who are committed to encouraging our learners to thrive through fun, purposeful, and creative learning experiences. In Year 2, we aim to build greater independence, resilience, and confidence in our pupils as they take pride in their progress and enjoy their learning journey.
We strive to make each day enjoyable, helping every child to leave school smiling and feeling successful.

Class Timings
The Year 2 school day begins at 9:00am and finishes at 3:15pm.
Uniform
Please ensure your child’s name is clearly labelled on all items including coats, jumpers/cardigans, bags, and water bottles. This helps us to return any misplaced items quickly.
Snack Time
Children are encouraged to try a variety of fruit from our Tŷ Bwyd. You are also welcome to send in a healthy snack (clearly labelled with your child’s name). Free milk is provided daily. Please ensure your child has a refillable water bottle so they can stay hydrated throughout the day.
Seren a Sbarc’s Adventure (Welsh Home Link Book)
Each Friday, Seren will go home with our Welsh Pupil of the Week. We ask that your child completes at least one page in the book and returns it by the following Thursday, so another child can enjoy the adventure next.
Reading Eggs & Hwb
All pupils in Year 2 have access to Reading Eggs, an engaging online platform that supports the development of reading skills both in school and at home. Login details will be provided at the start of the year. If you require a new password, please contact the class teacher.
In addition, all pupils will receive their Hwb login details, which provide access to a wide range of digital learning tools. This includes Google for Education and Microsoft Office programmes such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. These platforms support learning across the curriculum and help to build vital digital competence skills.
