Welcome to Lovely Leeks – Reception
Mr S. Tilley and Mrs S. Block would like to warmly welcome you to Diligent Daffodils. We are a caring and dedicated team who work together to make sure your child feels happy, safe, and excited to learn every day. In Reception, we focus on learning through play, building friendships, and encouraging independence as our pupils take their first steps on their school journey.
We aim to provide a fun and stimulating environment where all children feel valued and leave school each day with a smile on their face.

Class Timings
The Reception day begins at 9:00am and finishes at 3:15pm.
Uniform
Please make sure all items of clothing – including coats, jumpers, and cardigans – are clearly labelled with your child’s name. We kindly ask you to pack a spare set of clothes in your child’s bag in case of accidents or messy play.
Snack Time
Children are encouraged to try a variety of fruit from our Tŷ Bwyd. If you prefer, you can send your child with a healthy snack (labelled with their name). Free milk is provided daily, and we also ask that your child brings in a water bottle to keep them hydrated throughout the day.
Seren a Sbarc’s Adventure (Welsh Home Link Book)
Every Friday, our Welsh Pupil of the Week will take home Seren’s adventure book. Please help your child to complete at least one page before returning the book by the following Thursday, so another child can enjoy taking part.
Reading Eggs & Hwb
All Reception pupils have access to their own Reading Eggs account to help develop early reading skills at home and in school. Login details will be shared at the start of the year. If a new password is needed, just let us know and we’ll be happy to help.
Your child will also receive their Hwb login, giving them access to helpful educational tools including Google for Education and Microsoft Office programmes like Word and PowerPoint. These tools help us support digital skills in a fun and age-appropriate way.
